CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

With a background in industrial design, I have more than 30 years of experience in large companies.

In January 1992, while I was studying, I began my career as a CAD/CAM technician. This involved me modeling surfaces and preparing programs for CNC milling machines, which had recently arrived in Spain. At 23 years old, I was Project Manager. My main focus at the time was developing control tools and stamping prototypes. In 2001, I became head of the prototyping department of a German automotive engineering company. When it closed its branch in Barcelona in 2005, I began as a freelance designer and a year later I founded Smartech.

At Smartech, we always work with the same goal: building meaningful and productive relationships with our clients and cementing the company as a benchmark in the field of mechanical engineering solutions.

Manuel Garcia Lopez

PROJECT ADVISOR & QUALITY DIRECTOR

I am an industrial technical engineer and I specialized in electricity at UPC. Over the years, I have complemented my technical training with a focus on management. For example, I studied as a Postgraduate in Product Engineering Project Management at UPC, and I have a Master’s Degree in Project Management at EUNCET and an eMBA from EUNCET.
In the past, I have worked as a Quality Engineer, a Product Engineer, an Engineering Manager, a Technical Office Manager, and a Program Manager in different companies in the automotive and motorsport worlds.
At Smartech, I focus on project supervision and improving the organization’s internal processes. My aim is always to increase efficiency and find ways in which we can better serve our customers. My relationship with Smartech began more than 10 years ago as a customer. They have accompanied me at different stages of my professional career. I finally joined the team in 2022 Outside of Smartech, I actively collaborate with “La Peixera”: an association dedicated to organizing cultural events in Tordera.

Jordi Ricart

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

I am a project technician in Smartech. I studied Technical Drawing and Mechanization, and work with Pro Engineer, AutoCad, Inventor, and CATIA V5.

Over the years, I have worked in many companies in the automotive industry, including SEAT, PSA, Ficosa, and Renault, designing machines, measuring gauges and claws, amongst other things.

I originally began in Smartech as an intern in 2012, staying until 2017. I then worked in various other companies in the sector. I returned to Smartech in 2022.

There is a fantastic environment here in the company and I came back knowing that I would continue to grow professionally.
